Claude Code
Give Claude Code live web search
Claude Code reads your repository. It cannot read the web unless you hand it a tool. Gyaansetu is an MCP server with two of them: search the live web, and extract a page into clean Markdown.

Set it up
- 1
Make an API key
Sign in with Google at the dashboard and create a key. 1,000 Credits a month are free, no card. A key starts with gs-.
- 2
Add the MCP server at user scope
User scope keeps the key out of every project's .mcp.json, so it cannot be committed by accident.
- 3
Ask something that needs the live web
A question whose answer changed after the model's training cutoff is the honest test. Claude will call gyaansetu_search and cite what it read.
The command
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http gyaansetu \
"https://web-search.gyaansetu.com/mcp" \
--header "Authorization: Bearer ***"
claude mcp get gyaansetu # confirm it is connectedCursor uses the same endpoint: add it under mcpServers in ~/.cursor/mcp.json with the same Authorization header.

Try it before you decide
- 1,000 Credits free every month, no card
