Getting started
Is it really free?
Yes. Every Account gets 1,000 Credits a month at no cost, and there's no card to enter. Credit Packs are optional.
How many API Keys can I have?
Up to five per Account. They share one Quota and one rate limit.
How do I make my first Search?
Sign in, create an API Key in your dashboard, then follow the Search example. You can also try a Query in the Playground.
Credits and billing
What happens when my Quota runs out?
Requests spend your Credit Balance, if you've bought a Credit Pack. Once both are used up, requests get a 432 error until your Quota refills on the 1st of the next month (UTC) or you buy more Credits. Nothing is charged automatically.
How many Credits does a Search cost?
A basic Search costs 1 Credit and an advanced Search costs 2. Extract costs 1 Credit per 5 successfully extracted URLs. Failed work costs nothing.
Do purchased Credits expire?
No. Credit Packs add to your Credit Balance, which never expires. Your monthly Quota is spent first.
Where are my invoices?
Open Billing and follow Purchase history and invoices to Dodo Payments. Sign in there with the email you paid with.
API and errors
What is the rate limit?
60 requests a minute per Account, across all its API Keys, or 300 a minute while it has a Credit Balance. Past that, requests get 429 with a Retry-After header saying how many seconds to wait.
Does my existing agent SDK work?
Gyaansetu answers the /search and /extract requests that popular agent search SDKs send, in the shape they expect. Point your SDK's base URL here and use a Gyaansetu API Key. The docs show the one-line change.
What does a 432 error mean?
Your monthly Quota and Credit Balance are used up. Your Quota refills on the 1st of next month (UTC), or you can buy Credits in Billing.
What should I do after a 429 error?
Wait the number of seconds in the Retry-After header before making another request. All API Keys on an Account share its rate limit.
Account and privacy
Are my Queries stored?
Gyaansetu keeps no log of your Queries. To answer quickly, Search Provider responses for a repeated Query are cached for up to an hour, and pages for up to 24 hours, both keyed by a hash, not linked to your Account. What Gyaansetu records is how many Credits your Account spends each day.
How do I delete my Account?
Open Settings and choose Delete my Account. Your API Keys stop working and any Credit Balance is forfeited.
How do I report a security issue?
Use the private security address on the Contact page. Please never send an API Key.
