# Switching from Tavily

Gyaansetu accepts the same Search and Extract request shapes as Tavily's SDKs. Keep your SDK, create a Gyaansetu API Key in the [Dashboard](/dashboard/keys), and change the base URL to `https://web-search.gyaansetu.com`. Your key starts with `gs-`; do not use a Tavily key.

## MCP clients and agent prompts

Connect to `https://web-search.gyaansetu.com/mcp` using `Authorization: Bearer gs-YOUR_GYAANSETU_API_KEY`. Gyaansetu's MCP tools are `gyaansetu_search` and `gyaansetu_extract`. If an agent prompt names `tavily_search`, update that tool name too.

## What changes

- Search returns ranked Results and their Content, not a generated answer. The `answer` field is `null`.
- Each Account has a free monthly Quota of 1,000 Credits. Paid Credit Packs add a Credit Balance; the Quota is spent first. A basic Search costs 1 Credit, an advanced Search costs 2, and Extract costs 1 per 5 successfully extracted URLs.
- When both Quota and Credit Balance are used up, HTTP returns `432`. Tavily's Python SDK reports that as `ForbiddenError`.
- Inputs Gyaansetu cannot honour, such as `country`, `exact_match`, and `include_favicon`, are accepted and ignored. Check the [API reference](/docs) for the full field table.
