# Web Search in Claude Code and Cursor

Both clients can connect to Gyaansetu's remote MCP server at `{{API_BASE_URL}}/mcp`. Use a Gyaansetu API Key that starts with `gs-`. Send it in the `Authorization: Bearer` header; a client that cannot set headers can use `?apiKey=` in the server URL instead.

## Claude Code

Run the same HTTP setup command used in the app's setup examples, replacing the placeholder with your complete API Key:

## Cursor

Add this server entry to `.cursor/mcp.json` or Cursor's MCP settings. Replace the placeholder with the complete API Key, including its `gs-` prefix:

If the client cannot send a header, append `?apiKey=gs-YOUR_GYAANSETU_API_KEY` to the MCP URL instead. The API Key is a secret; do not commit a real one to your configuration file.

## Available tools

The server exposes two tools:

- `gyaansetu_search` searches the web and returns ranked Results.
- `gyaansetu_extract` returns Raw Content for URLs you already have.

The MCP connection authenticates once with the API Key. Both tools then use the same Account Quota and Credit Balance as HTTP requests.
